History

Responding to the desire of many good people in our world for a closer relationship with God and for a sound theological and spiritual basis that would nurture and support this desire, five Sisters of Mercy conceived a vision which came to be known as Mercy Spiritual Ministries. From seeds of the vision planted in the year 2000, the ministry has grown and developed over the last ten years.

Presently there are two Sisters of Mercy, Sister Marie Michele Donnelly and Sister Mary Anne Nolan who serve as Co-Directors.

Mobile Ministry

Central to the ministry are the ability and willingness of the Co-Directors to travel and to be present to those served in their familiar location. This facilitates greater participation and enhances community at the local level.

People Served

Between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010, the Co-Directors served 2,877 persons and visited 130 sites, most of which were in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.
